The Ford Explorer fills the role of a midsize three-row SUV in Ford’s portfolio and was one of the first SUVs to become hugely popular in America. The sixth-generation model currently in circulation, which made its debut in 2020, combines remarkable performance and practical utility. No official information on the 2024 Ford Explorer release date has been made available, but we expect to see it in late Fall 2023. Engine

While higher trim levels of the 2024 Ford Explorer come with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine (400 horsepower, 415 lb.-ft. of torque), the lower trim levels feature a turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine (300 horsepower, 310 lb.-ft. of torque). A 3.3-liter V6 hybrid engine that generates 318 horsepower is also available.

Transmission

All 2024 Ford Explorer models are equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and the majority come standard with rear-wheel drive. The off-road-ready Ford Explorer Timberline comes standard with all-wheel drive.

Towing

The 2024 Ford Explorer can tow up to 5,600 lbs. with the Class IV Trailer Tow Package and comes with handy tech like Tow/Haul mode on the regular Terrain Management System to make towing a breeze.

Exterior Features

According to trusted sources, it is likely that the 2024 Ford Explorer will get revisions to its current headlights, taillights, and grille design. It is possible that the headlights may look similar to the Ford F-150 Lighthing’s LED bar, which gives it a sleek, futuristic look. The Ford Explorer Platinum model includes Adaptive Headlights, which automatically adjust based on the movement of the vehicle.

Cargo Space & Seating Configurations

With comfortable seating for up to 7 passengers, you can bring everyone along for the ride. If you aren’t utilizing the third row, fold it down to create extra cargo space. The Explorer is also equipped with Ford Co-Pilot 360 Technology, which provides navigation support. It also comes standard with SYNC® 3 Technology and FordPass Connect, keeping the world at your fingertips.
